Shaped, as you'd hope, like a cat's paw. Two soft rounded pads instead of a sharpened metal loop.

The point of the shape is pressure distribution. A steel loop concentrates force into a tiny ring, which is what causes the bruising and broken capillaries people get from over-enthusiastic extraction. This spreads it, so it's harder to damage yourself — at the cost of being less effective on anything genuinely stubborn.

Who this is for

Anyone who wants to deal with congestion but doesn't trust themselves with steel tools. If you've ever come away from a session with red marks that lasted two days, start here instead.

How to use it

  1. Soften your skin first — warm compress, or straight after a shower. This matters more than the tool
  2. Position the pads either side of the blackhead
  3. Squeeze gently and evenly. Slow pressure, not a pinch
  4. Two attempts. If nothing comes out, leave it for a few days
  5. Wipe the tool, then calm the skin — hypochlorous mist works well here

Being straight about its limits

Gentler means less powerful. On a deeply set blackhead this will do less than a proper loop tool, and you may find yourself reaching for the extraction kit instead. That's a fair trade if it means you don't scar your nose.

Never use it on an inflamed, red, painful spot. Same rule as every extraction tool — the contents are deeper than they look and pressing pushes bacteria further in.

Cleaning

Wash with soap and water after every use, or wipe with alcohol. It touches broken skin, so this isn't optional.

Questions we get asked

Does it hurt? Considerably less than fingernails. You'll feel pressure, not a pinch.

This or the 8-piece steel kit? This one if you're nervous or new to it. The steel kit if you know what you're doing and want results on stubborn congestion.

Can I use it on my back? Physically yes, though reaching is the problem.

How often? Once a week at most. Congestion needs time to resurface.
