Hydrocolloid Acne Patches – Invisible Spot Stickers (144 Pack)

The overnight fix for a spot you'd otherwise spend the evening picking at.

A hydrocolloid patch does two things. It draws fluid out of the blemish, and it physically stops your fingers getting to it. The second is arguably the more valuable — most of the damage from a spot isn't the spot, it's what we do to it.

How to use them

1. Clean and completely dry skin. Any moisture and it won't stick
2. Choose a patch a little larger than the blemish
3. Press it on and leave it — six to eight hours, or overnight
4. Peel off gently in the morning. The white patch you'll see underneath is fluid it has drawn out. That's it working

Don't apply serums or moisturiser underneath. Bare, dry skin only.

Which spots these work on

Good for: whiteheads, spots that have come to a head, and anything currently weeping. Also excellent over a spot you've already picked, to keep it clean and stop you going back.

Not much use on: blackheads, closed bumps under the skin, and deep cystic spots. There's nothing at the surface for the patch to draw out. It'll still stop you picking, which isn't nothing.

Three sizes, 144 patches

Small for individual spots, medium for the usual, large for a cluster or a chin situation. At this quantity you can afford to use them the moment something appears rather than saving them for emergencies — which is exactly when they work best.

Questions we get asked

Can I wear them under makeup? They're thin and matte so you can, but they work considerably better overnight on bare skin.

Will they leave a mark? No. They're gentler than a plaster.

How long can I leave one on? Up to about twelve hours. Beyond that it stops absorbing and can loosen.

Can I use two nights running? Yes, with a fresh patch. Never reuse one.

Are they safe in pregnancy? Hydrocolloid is a physical dressing with no active ingredient, so it's generally considered one of the safer options — but check with your midwife if you're unsure.

If spots are constant rather than occasional

Patches manage individual blemishes. They don't treat acne. If you're getting them persistently, that's worth a conversation with a pharmacist or your GP — there are things that work, and none of them are stickers.
