The Weightless Moisturiser – Hydrogel Face Cream for Oily & Combination Skin

If every moisturiser you've tried leaves a film you can feel, the problem is probably the format rather than the product. A hydrogel is mostly water held in a gel structure — it hydrates as well as a cream and disappears into the skin instead of sitting on it.

Particularly good if you're oily or combination and have concluded that moisturiser isn't for you. It usually is; the heavy ones just aren't.

How to use it

1. Cleanse and leave your skin slightly damp
2. Serums first, if you use them
3. A pea-sized amount, pressed rather than rubbed in
4. Morning and night. Sunscreen on top in the morning

It layers under and over everything. If your skin is very dry in winter, use it as a first layer and a richer cream on top.

Being straight about it

A hydrogel gives you water, not oil. If your skin is genuinely dry rather than dehydrated — flaky, tight all day, uncomfortable — you'll want something richer, and our CICA cream is the better choice. This is for hydration without weight, which is a different problem.

Questions we get asked

Is it enough on its own? For oily and combination skin, most of the year, yes.

Will it break me out? Water-gel textures are among the lowest-risk formats. Patch test along the jaw if you're acne-prone.

Does it work under sunscreen? Very well — it absorbs fast, so no pilling.

What's the difference between the two colours? The packaging. Same formula.

Fragranced? Lightly.
