Everyone knows sunscreen needs reapplying every couple of hours. Almost nobody does it, because reapplying a cream over makeup means starting your face again. A stick solves that in about four seconds, standing up, without a mirror.
That's the entire argument for this product. Not that it's better sunscreen than the bottle on your shelf — that it's the one you'll actually use at two in the afternoon.
What SPF 50+ PA+++ actually means
Two different numbers doing two different jobs. SPF 50+ covers UVB, the rays that burn you. PA+++ is the Asian rating system for UVA, the rays associated with ageing and pigmentation. Plenty of high-SPF sunscreens are weak on UVA; a PA+++ rating tells you this one isn't.
How to use it
- Twist up about 3mm of product
- Two or three passes over each area — forehead, nose, cheeks, chin, and don't forget your ears and the back of your neck
- Press it in gently with clean fingertips if you want it fully invisible
- Reapply every two hours in strong sun, or after swimming or heavy sweating
It goes straight over makeup without disturbing it. That's the whole point.
Being straight with you about the size
This is 20g. It's a top-up product designed to live in a handbag or a car door, not your only sunscreen for a week in Spain. Use a full-size cream as your morning base and this to keep it topped up through the day. Anyone telling you a 20g stick will protect a whole body is selling you something.
Questions we get asked
Does it leave a white cast? No. It goes on clear and stays clear, which is unusual for a mineral filter and the main reason we stock this one.
Is it sticky? No — it dries to a dry, almost powdery finish rather than a tacky one.
Will it ruin my makeup? It won't lift foundation if you swipe rather than rub. If you're wearing a full base, press it in with your fingertips afterwards.
Is it enough on its own? For a normal day indoors with a walk to the shops, yes. For a day outside, use it alongside a proper cream base.
Can I use it on my kids? It's a mineral formula so it's generally gentler, but patch test first and check with a pharmacist for very young children.
One thing sunscreen can't do
No SPF replaces shade, a hat, or covering up. Treat this as one layer of protection rather than permission to sit in full sun all afternoon.
