The flexible one. Instead of a hard shell that sits away from your face, this moulds to it — over the bridge of your nose, around your cheekbones, down to your jaw. That sounds like a small difference until you try wearing a rigid mask lying down.
It's the most expensive thing we sell, so let's be straight about what you're paying for: comfort and coverage. The light does the same job as a cheaper mask. What you get here is a device you'll actually wear four times a week instead of twice a month, and with LED that consistency is the entire game.
What the seven modes are for
- Red — the main event, used for the appearance of fine lines and firmness
- Blue — commonly chosen for blemish-prone skin
- Yellow — often used for the look of redness and uneven tone
- Green — for the appearance of pigmentation and dark spots
- Purple, cyan and white — blended combinations of the above
How to use it
- Cleanse and dry your face. Bare skin — serums and creams block the light
- Fit the mask and fasten the strap behind your head
- Fifteen to twenty minutes, eyes closed the whole time
- Remove, then apply your serums and moisturiser. Skin takes them well afterwards
Three or four times a week. Daily isn't better, it's just faster to get bored.
Please read before buying
Don't use this if you're sensitive to light or taking anything photosensitising — that includes some antibiotics, isotretinoin, and St John's wort. If you have epilepsy or are affected by flashing light, don't use it. If you're pregnant or under treatment for a skin condition, speak to your GP or dermatologist first. Keep your eyes closed throughout every session.
Questions we get asked
Should I buy this or the rigid mask? This one if you want to wear it in bed or on the sofa. The rigid one if you'd rather it didn't touch your skin and you want to spend less.
Is it wireless? Yes, rechargeable, so you can move around during a session.
Can I share it? It touches your face directly, so wipe it down between people.
How long before I see anything? Six to eight weeks for tone and texture. Nothing in the first fortnight, and we'd rather tell you that now than have you give up in week two.
