What it actually does

Compression reduces fluid retention along the jaw and under the chin, so the area looks tighter and more defined for a few hours afterwards. It's genuinely noticeable, particularly in the morning, and particularly if you've had a salty meal or a drink the night before.

What it does not do

It does not remove fat. It does not permanently change your jawline or bone structure. A strap cannot reshape a face, and any product marketed as slimming your face permanently is not being straight with you.

If you want lasting definition along the jaw, microcurrent used consistently does more, and even that is cumulative rather than permanent.

How to use it

1. Clean, dry skin. Apply a serum or moisturiser first if you like — the compression helps it absorb
2. Position along the jaw and under the chin, fastening behind your head or over the crown
3. Snug, not tight. You should be able to open your mouth and breathe entirely normally
4. One to two hours, or overnight if it's comfortable
5. Wash it weekly with mild soap and air dry
