Primer is the step most people skip and then wonder why their foundation has slid off by three o'clock. This one grips makeup through heat and sweat without being the silicone-heavy sort that pills the moment you layer anything on top.
What it's for
- Long days — makeup that still looks applied at seven in the evening
- Heat and humidity — holidays, summer commutes, crowded rooms
- Weddings, events, anything photographed
- Oily skin — it puts a barrier between your foundation and the oil that breaks it up
How to use it
- Moisturise first and let it absorb properly. This is where most primer failures start
- A pea-sized amount, pressed over the areas that matter — T-zone, cheeks, anywhere makeup usually goes
- Wait a full minute. Genuinely wait
- Foundation on top as normal
The minute of waiting is the whole technique. Foundation applied onto wet primer is what causes pilling, and people usually blame the primer.
Less is considerably more
A pea-sized amount covers your whole face. Using more doesn't extend wear — it creates a slippery layer that makes foundation move around, which is the opposite of the point.
Questions we get asked
Will it pill? Not if you wait a minute before foundation. If it does, you've used too much or not waited.
Can I wear it without makeup? You can — it gives a smoothed, slightly matte finish. It isn't a moisturiser though.
Is it waterproof or water-resistant? It resists sweat and humidity well. It is not a barrier against swimming.
Which option should I choose? The 50ml is the standard size. The two-piece is better value if you know it suits you.
Does it clog pores? It's a lighter formula than most silicone primers, but cleanse properly at night regardless. Primer plus foundation left on overnight is a reliable route to congestion.
